A heartbroken dog owner is still searching for her lost Pomeranian - which keeps giving everyone the slip.

Little Louie went missing in Glasgow's south side on Sunday, August 12. Since then, there have been multiple sightings in and around Cathcart Cemetery and Clarkston Road.

A fisherman even managed to pull him to safety from the River Cart before he escaped and ran away again.

Owner Laurie Doyle, who spent her 54th birthday searching Linn Park in Glasgow after seven different sightings, remains hopeful over his return.

She told STV: "It's been a real rollercoaster of emotions.

"You are positive initially that he'll only be lost for a matter of hours - that he'll just turn up.

"Then as time goes on you think of all the things that might have happened to him with the best scenario that he has been taken in by someone."

Laurie couldn't believe it when Louie managed to escape from the fisherman.

She added: "Every time I say 'right, that's it', there's another sighting and away we go again - it's a Glasgow groundhog day."

Laurie believes the three-year-old pup could be hiding in someone's garden.

She said: "He seems to have survived two bad storms and over 60 days out on his own. For a wee 4kg dog, it's quite amazing.

"He's certainly found a quiet, safe place because everyone is looking for him in that area of the southside."

The NHS community nurse has been inundated with help looking, thanks to dog lovers in the area and online.

She added: "I've been superbly supported by volunteers from Lost Dogs Glasgow who have been with us every step of the way, advising, searching, setting up cameras and traps.

"I especially want to thank Marion, Kirsty, Ann, Kelly and Yvonne. This is one of the longest searches yet and they have been with us since the first day Louie was lost.

"The kindness and support that has been shown to me by strangers, dog lovers and friends has been overwhelming.

"They search, they message from all over the world and they follow what's happening in the search for this pesky pooch who continues to evade being rescued.

"They all just want my wee dog home and the support has been priceless.

"Forget Lassie come home - it's now Louie come home."

A reward has been offered for Louie's safe return. If you spot him, call Laurie on 07947774183.
