Two people have been seriously injured after a single-vehicle crash in South Ayrshire.

Police said a silver Volvo was being driven on Beach Road in Barassie around 12.35am on Thursday when it collided with a wall.

The two injured people were taken to Ayr Hospital for treatment. Their conditions are unknown.

Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to get in touch.

Sergeant Kevin Blackley, from the Irvine Road Policing Unit, said: "The car was observed on the following roads during the course of the evening: Portland Street, Templehill, Harbour Road, Port Randle Drive, Jubilee Road and North Shore Road, all Troon.

"We are appealing for anyone who was in the area last night who may have seen the car before the incident took place to get in contact with us.

"We'd also ask anyone in the area with dash-cam footage or CCTV footage to get in touch as you may have information that can help us, particularly in the North Shore Road area of the town."
