A teenager has been arrested after more than ten people had to be treated by medics following an incident at a pub.

The Last Post in Paisley was evacuated due to a suspected gas leak on Sunday night.

Police are unable to confirm what caused the evacuation, but said it was neither a 'stink bomb' or CS gas as reported by Wetherspoon staff.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "They have not been able to confirm what substance was used."

The 16-year-old man has been released from custody and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Emergency services, including environmental health units, were called to The Last Post following reports of a suspected gas leak at around 8.15pm.

After the evacuation, police and fire teams sealed off County Square and closed down Paisley Gilmour Street railway station.

An engineer concluded that it was not a gas leak and the cordon was lifted by 10.55pm after it was confirmed there was no further risk to the public.
