An overturned horsebox has caused delays for motorists in Glasgow.

Scotland TranServ tweeted just before 9am on Saturday that the trailer being towed by a silver Kia had overturned on the M77.

The southbound part of the motorway has closed just before junction four, with motorists forced to use the hard shoulder to move past the incident.

Police attended the scene and a vet treated the horse which was inside the trailer for minor injuries.

Motorists were advised to approach the area with caution and to expect delays.

The road reopened around 10.35am on Saturday.
