The body of a man has been found on a street in Clydebank.

Emergency crews were alerted after the 49-year-old was discovered at Braes Avenue in the West Dunbartonshire town at around 4.45pm on Sunday.

Officers were called out but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Enquiries are ongoing but police are treating the death as unexplained.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The body of a man was discovered on Braes Avenue at around 4.45pm last night.

"He was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing but officers are currently treating the death as unexplained."
