Police have appealed for information or dash cam footage after a fatal road crash on the A725.

Allan Nicholson was killed on the East Kilbride Expressway at around 6.45am on Saturday by a white Ford Mondeo which was allegedly driving in the wrong direction.

The 24-year-old was thrown from his bike after the collision and pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers arrested driver of the Mondeo who was then taken to Hairmyres Hospital for treatment. The 34-year-old man is due to appear in at Hamilton Court on Monday.

Chief Inspector Darren Faulds said: "I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash, or observed either vehicle on the southbound carriageway prior to it happening, to please get in touch.

"I would also ask any motorists with dash-cams who were on the road around the time of the incident to check their footage in case they have captured anything which could be of significance to the investigation."

Anybody with information or footage relating to the crash is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
