Police were on the streets a week after a murder outside his mum's pub in Shawlands.

Owen Hassan died after a stabbing in Greenview Street around 10.25pm on Wednesday, November 7.

Despite his mum's efforts to save him, Mr Hassan was pronounced dead in hospital a short time later.

Officers were in the area last night to stop and interview people in a bid to jog their memories.

Detective Chief Inspector Martin Fergus said: "This evening we will be out speaking to people in Greenview Street and will be speaking to pedestrians and motorists who perhaps travel through this area on a regular basis around this particular time.

"We hope we can jog their memories into remembering something they may have seen or heard which could assist our murder investigation.

"We are continuing significant inquiries to trace the two men responsible for this attack on Mr Hassan and we would urge anyone with any information that may assist our police enquiries to contact the inquiry team through 101 quoting reference number 4167 of 7th November 2018.

"Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted through 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained."

Detectives want to hear from anyone who may have seen Mr Hassan on the night.

He had dinner with a friend at Oro restaurant on Kilmarnock Road before leaving the premises at 5.30pm.

At around 10.20pm he arrived at the Old Stag Inn on Greenview Street. When he left a short time later, he was approached by two men. After running off, they gave chase and attacked him.
