A man has died after plunging from a block of flats in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to Holmlea Road, Cathcart, at 8am on Wednesday.

A man was pronounced dead at the scene following the incident.

Officers have shut the road between Old Castle Road and Brisbane Street while investigations are carried out.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "We were called at 8am on Wednesday after a man was injured when he fell from a block of flats on Holmlea Road in Glasgow.

"Emergency services are currently in attendance."

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman added: "We received a call at 7.57am to attend an incident on Holmlea Road in Glasgow.

"We dispatched our trauma team, two ambulances and a manager to the scene."
