Arrest over 'attack' on man who was later found dead
The body of James McGowan was discovered on a canal path in Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire.
A man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting another man who was later found dead on a path.
The body of James McGowan was discovered in Braes Avenue in Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire.
The 49-year-old, from Knightswood, was in Glasgow city centre before he was found dead on Sunday, November 4.
A man, 42, has been arrested after allegedly assaulting and trying to rob Mr McGowan on Stockwell Place.
He is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday.
Inspector Grant Durie said: "We continue to treat Mr McGowan's death as unexplained at this time and are still trying to piece together his movements prior to his death.
"I am re-iterating my earlier appeal for anyone with information to get in touch with the incident room on 0141 305 4530."
