Cannabis plants with a street value of nearly £70,000 have been found during a police raid in Glasgow's west end.

Officers searched a property in Byres Road on Friday morning.

A 51-year-old man was arrested and is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

In a statement, Police Scotland said: "Officers have recovered a quantity of cannabis plants from a flat in Byres Road, Glasgow.

"Around 11am on Friday, February 8, police seized cannabis plants with an estimated street value of £68,000 from a flat in Byres Road, Glasgow.

"A 51-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the recovery and is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, February 11.

"A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal."
