University's Dumfries campus evacuated over suspicious package

Part of Glasgow University's Dumfries campus has been evacuated after a suspicious package was found.
Emergency services were alerted at 12.30pm on Thursday.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman told STV News that part of the Crichton campus has been evacuated as a precaution while investigations take place.
A Glasgow University spokeswoman said: "Staff and students have been evacuated from the Rutherford/McCowan building on the Dumfries campus as a precautionary measure.
"Police Scotland are in attendance and carrying out inquiries."
It comes after a controlled explosion was carried out at the university in Glasgow on Thursday after a suspicious package was discovered.
Police are linking that to three explosive devices found in London the previous day.
Princes Street in Edinburgh was also closed on Thursday after a suspicious package was discovered at the Halifax bank.
