A gas explosion has forced trains to be cancelled and streets to be closed.

The blast happened near the Flying Scot airport car park on Well Street in Paisley at 4.30am on Saturday.

Train services through Paisley Gilmour Street have been cancelled while the incident is dealt with.

Services including those running to and from Glasgow Central have been disrupted.

No one has been injured but surrounding streets have been cordoned off.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police received a report of a gas explosion at a premises in Well Street, Paisley.

"Emergency services are in attendance and Well Street is completely closed, as well as a number of surrounding streets.

"The train line running through Paisley Gilmour Street is also affected.

"There are no reports of injuries at this time. Please avoid the area and further updates will be provided in due course."
