Two separate incidents are causing major rush hour traffic delays on a busy motorway.

A broken down car and a crash on the M74 have caused huge tailbacks from Junction 1a at Polmadie northbound on Monday morning.

The crash involving a car and a HGV took place at around 7.30am.

Congestion on the road was already running back to the M73 interchange as a result of a vehicle that had broken down just before 7.20am.

All lanes have since been been reopened, however drivers have been warned to expect travel time of around an hour.

All vehicles involved are on the hard shoulder.
