Firefighters are tackling an early morning blaze at a high-rise flat in Glasgow.

Four fire engines and an aerial appliance were sent to the scene in Kirkton Avenue, Knightswood after reports of the fire at 5.45am on Tuesday.

Emergency services including the police and ambulance service are also in attendance at the ongoing incident.

A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue service said: "We were called to reports of a fire at multi-storey flats in Kirkton Avenue, Knightswood at around 5.45am on Tuesday.

"We mobilised four appliances and one aerial appliance.

"We are still in attendance and it is an ongoing incident."

Police confirmed they are in attendance but have no further details at this time.
