Glasgow has been named as the best city in the UK for millennials to live, research has found.

The city was given the top spot thanks to the numerous festivals and entertainment on offer, having been named a UNESCO City of Music in 2008.

Glasgow is also considered a great place for millennials to settle, with a one-bedroom property sitting at £90,466, putting it well below the national average.

Research from Total Money analysed 63 UK cities for their work opportunities, cost of living, property prices and lifestyle.

Graduate work prospects, employment rates, weekly earnings, a meal for two, gym membership, population age, Brexit remain votes, and property prices to buy and rent were also considered in the study.

London came second, with Aberdeen coming in third place thanks to its high employment rate.

The north-east city's average rent rates are considered low at just £478 and one-bedroom properties cost on average £84,584.

Edinburgh came in in 14th place with rent almost double that of one-bedroom homes in Glasgow, and Dundee came in 26th, ahead of Newcastle, Brighton and Sheffield.
