Teenage boy 'stabbed' following gang fight in field
The 15-year-old was taken to hospital following the incident on Saturday night.
A teenage boy has been taken to hospital after he was reportedly stabbed during a gang fight in East Renfrewshire.
Police were called to a large scale disturbance involving a large group of youths on Waterfoot Road, Newton Mearns at around 7.30pm on Saturday.
The 15-year-old was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was treated for his injuries before being released.
It is believed a bladed weapon was used during the incident.
Police say enquires into the incident are continuing.
A spokeswoman for the force said: "We were called to reports that a 15-year-old boy had been injured during a disturbance on Waterfoot Road, Newton Mearns.
"Investigations into the incident are ongoing and anyone with any information should contact police on 101."
