A man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder following a mass brawl in Glasgow after an Old Firm match.

A 47-year-old man is fighting for life in hospital after being stabbed during a fight on Blackfriars Street in the Merchant City area at around 5pm on March 31.

Kyle Beard, 25, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder and is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

In addition to Beard, a seventh person has also been arrested and charged in connection with the large-scale disturbance.

Jack Docherty, 27, appeared at court on Thursday to face three assault charges and one for breach of the peace.

He made no plea and was granted bail pending further investigation.

On Monday, five people appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court charged with breach of the peace.

Kahl Cullen, 23, Gemma Martin, 24, Andrew Quinn, 25, William Barclay, 27, and James Quinn, 20, made no plea when they appeared in court.

They were granted bail pending their next court appearance.
