A man who was murdered died in his garden in front of his family after being stabbed.

Anthony Ferns was sitting in a blue Audi A3 on Crebar Street in Glasgow when he was knifed at 10pm on Thursday.

The 33-year-old managed to drive a short distance to his home on Roukenburn Street but collapsed in his garden in front of his family.

STV News understands members, including his mum, tried to save him but he was later pronounced dead.

Police are treating the attack as murder and say his family have been left devastated by the killing.

"Officers are carrying out house to house enquiries and gathering CCTV footage from the local area to provide more information that will help us trace the man responsible for this vicious attack.

"The team of officers are also working to establish a motive for this crime. They are currently piecing together the victim's last known movements to find out as much information as possible on the circumstances surrounding this death.

"Understandably Mr Ferns' family are extremely upset and have been left devastated by this murder.

"We have specially trained officers providing support to the family and they are keeping them updated on this investigation."

Offices remain at the scene while investigations are being carried out.

"Extra police patrols are in the area and members of the public are encouraged to speak to a police officer if they have any concerns.

"Finally, I would also urge anyone with information on this murder to contact us as soon as possible."
