Police want to speak to a driver who passed a man at the time he was murdered in an Audi.

Anthony Ferns later died in his garden in front of his mum after being stabbed to death on Crebar Street in Glasgow.

The 33-year-old was sitting in a blue Audi A3 when he was knifed at 10pm on Thursday.

Mr Ferns managed to drive a short distance to his home on Roukenburn Street but collapsed.

His family, including his mum, tried to save him but he was later pronounced dead.

A car passed his Audi A3 at the time the stabbing was taking place.

Officers want to speak to the driver and those in the vehicle as part of their investigation.

The attacker, who fled the scene, is white, between 20 and 30 years old and between 5ft 8in and 6ft. He was wearing a dark tracksuit and a light baseball cap.

Chief inspector Grant Macleod said: "It is vital that the occupants of the car which was driving along Crebar Street and passed the Audi contacts us.

"They may not have been aware of what they were witnessing but I'm sure they have crucial information which could help us in our investigation. We are continuing to review CCTV images and have received a good response from the public which we are following up.

"The motive for this murder is unknown and we are still piecing together Anthony's last known movements.

"Our enquiries so far have revealed that he drove to Main Street in Thornliebank just before 10pm and afterwards returned to Roukenburn Street where the attack happened."

He added: "Additional officers continue to patrol the area to provide reassurance to the local community, anyone who has any concerns or has any information can contact these officers or get in touch with us by calling 101.

"Please do pass any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, it could be important."
