An eighth person has been arrested following a mass brawl in Glasgow after an Old Firm match.

Police said on Wednesday that the 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the large-scale disturbance on Blackfriars Street in the Merchant City area on Sunday March 31.

He is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday.

The arrest comes a day after 24-year-old Kyle Beard was charged with attempted murder in connection with the incident.

Six other people have also been arrested and charged in connection with the large-scale disturbance.

Jack Docherty, 27, faces three assault charges and one for breach of the peace.

Kahl Cullen, 23, Gemma Martin, 24, Andrew Quinn, 25, William Barclay, 27, and James Quinn, 20, also face breach of the peace charges.

A 47-year-old man was seriously injured during the brawl after reportedly being stabbed. Two other men also required hospital treatment for their injuries.
