Man 'forced into car by abductors' before escaping from farm
The 'kidnapping victim' was being held in Devol Farm, Port Glasgow.
A man was allegedly forced into a car by abductors in an East Dunbartonshire street.
He alerted police on Saturday after claiming to have escaped from a farm in Inverclyde where he had been held since Friday evening.
The 27-year-old man was allegedly forced into a car in Milngavie Road, Bearsden, before being taken to Devol Farm in Port Glasgow.
He managed to flee the property and turned up at the door of a nearby house in the town’s Golf Drive, before emergency services were alerted.
Police attended the farm where a quantity of drugs were discovered, while officers remained in attendance at the property near Port Glasgow Golf Club throughout the weekend.
A Strathclyde Police spokeswoman said: "An investigation is under way after police received a report of a man being forced into a car in Milngavie Road, Bearsden on the evening of Friday, February 1. The man managed to break free and enquiries are ongoing."
A 35-year-old man was arrested in connection with alleged drugs offences following the police enquiries.
Officers detained the man after seizing cannabis worth between £1000 to £1200 at the Port Glasgow farm following the incident.
He is expected to appear from custody at Paisley Sheriff Court later on Monday in relation to the drugs seizure.
