Man fighting for life after being stabbed while out with friends
The 24-year-old is in a critical condition in hospital following the attack in Rutherglen.
A man is fighting for his life after being stabbed in an unprovoked attack while he was out with friends in South Lanarkshire.
The 24-year-old was approached and struck with the knife while walking on Wednesday night.
He has been left in Glasgow’s Victoria Infirmary in a critical but stable condition after he was stabbed in Rutherglen.
Strathclyde Police said he was walking with two friends in Sheidaig Drive, near to its junction with Barrisdale Way, at around 7.40pm when a man ran up to him and attacked him.
His friends ran off unharmed, before the stabbing victim was taken to hospital in an ambulance.
Detective Chief Inspector Pat Campbell said on Thursday: "This appears to be a totally unprovoked attack on this young man as he was out with his friends.
"At this time, the only description we have of the suspect is that he is between 20 to 30 years of age, around 6ft in height and of slim build. He was wearing a grey hooded top.
"Police are currently carrying out enquiries in the local area in an effort to gather more information on this attack."
