Hillwalker found dead in Highlands after major search is named
The body of Martin Livingstone, 55, was found near Coire Lotha at Glen Etive on Sunday.
A missing hillwalker found dead in the Highlands has been named by police.
The body of Martin Livingstone, 55, was found near Coire Lotha at Glen Etive at around 1.20pm on Sunday.
A mountain rescue was called out when Mr Livingstone, from Coatbridge in North Lanarkshire, failed to return home at 8pm on Saturday.
The search was stood down at around 4am on Sunday due to poor weather conditions.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “On Sunday, the Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team, Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team and Oban Mountain Rescue Team recommenced searches in the area with assistance from Rescue 137 Search and Rescue Helicopter, Search and Rescue Dogs Association and Rescue 177 Search and Rescue Helicopter.
“At approximately 1.20pm hours on Sunday, Rescue 177 located the body of a man near Coire Lotha, Glen Etive. The identity of the man can now be confirmed as Martin Livingstone, from Coatbridge.”
