A look inside Glasgow's new Royal Hospital for Sick Children
The state-of-the-art facility is part of Scotland's biggest hospital building project.
STV News has been allowed inside the new Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Glasgow three months ahead of it opening.
The state-of-the-art facility is part of Scotland's biggest hospital building project — the new South Glasgow University Hospital and Royal Hospital For Sick Children.
This week alone £7m worth of equipment is being installed in the building that will replace the ageing children's site at Yorkhill.
Everything in the new facility has been designed with young patients in mind — from a high-tech welcome desk to giant play equipment. There is even a cinema and rooftop playground.
As more and more equipment begins to arrive, staff have been getting shown around their new workplace.
Up to 10,000 people will work on the new campus, which will bring major changes to the way healthcare is delivered across the west of Scotland. Maternity, children and adult hospitals will be all on one site.
