Hibs midfielder John McGinn to hold Aston Villa talks
The Scotland international has been given permission to travel south to meet Steve Bruce.
Hibernian midfielder John McGinn will visit Aston Villa on Tuesday as the Birmingham club make their move to sign the Scotland international before England's looming transfer deadline.
STV understands a fee between the clubs has yet to be agreed but McGinn has been given permission to travel south to open talks with Villains boss Steve Bruce.
The English transfer window slams shut on Thursday at 17.00, hours before Hibs face Molde in the first leg of their Europa League third-round qualifier.
Celtic remain interested in signing the former St Mirren star, despite Hibs rejecting three bids from the Scottish champions so far.
After Hibs' 3-0 win over Motherwell on Sunday, head coach Neil Lennon said "it wouldn't surprise me if something was on the table before Thursday."
On McGinn's talent, he added: "He's a fantastic footballer, I hope we can keep him but it's very difficult when a talent like him is playing like he is.
"His athleticism, his vision, his goals, he's the complete midfielder player at the minute.
"We've got an absolute superstar here and I hope to get to work with him a bit longer. Maybe not, though, we'll see."
McGinn has been capped nine times by his country to date.
