Rangers defender Declan John set for move to Swansea
Clubs are in talks over a deal to take the Welshman to the Liberty Stadium.
Rangers and Swansea are in talks over the permanent transfer of Declan John, with a deal set to be reached before Thursday's 5pm deadline in England, STV can reveal.
The defender is expected to leave Rangers after just a year at Ibrox, as Steven Gerrard's revamp of his squad continues.
The full-back has played over 20 matches in the last year but with the signings of Borna Barisic and Jon Flanagan, and uncertainty over the future of Lee Wallace, Rangers are prepared to do a deal.
Discussions are ongoing between the parties but with the English league transfer window closing at 5pm on Thursday, it is expected that a deal would be concluded quickly.
Kenny Miller, Bruno Alves, Harry Forrester, Michael O'Halloran, David Bates and Fabio Cardoso, Joe Dodoo, Jason Holt and Greg Dochery have already left the club this summer either permanently or on loan, with 11 players arriving at Ibrox.
