Defender Gregory Vignal departs Dundee United for 'family reasons'
The Frenchman failed to make a single appearance for Peter Houston's side.
Gregory Vignal has left Dundee United for "family reasons", cutting his spell at Tannadice short by over a month.
The former Liverpool and Rangers full-back joined the club in September, signing a deal to play in the Scottish Premier League until January 5.
Vignal, 31, failed to make a single appearance for Peter Houston's side.
A hamstring injury during an Under-20s match in October further curtailed his hopes of breaking into the side.
Vignal started his career at Montpellier, before moving to Liverpool in 2000 to spend five years at Anfield.
He made only a handful of appearances for the English side, spending time on loan at Bastia, Rennes, Espanyol and Rangers before quitting for Portsmouth in 2005.
A return to France with Lens followed a year later, punctuated by loan spells at Kaiserslautern and Southampton, before further spells with Birmingham City and Greek side Atromitos, where he last played.
