Mark Roberts dismissed from managerial role at Ayr United
The Ayr United manager leaves the League 1 club with immediate effect.
Mark Roberts has been released from his role at Ayr United with immediate effect, following a board decision on Monday.
The League 1 club currently sit ninth in the division having picked up just 16 points from the opening 15 games of the league campaign.
A total that the club deemed too low at this point in the season.
On the club's website, the board stated: "At a specially convened board meeting today, the club have released Mark Roberts with immediate effect.
"In doing so the club would like to express their appreciations towards Mark.
"He has been with the club for six years as a player and manager and the club, board and chairman would like to wish him all the best in his future endeavours."
Roberts signed for the Honest Men in January 2009 initially as a player for three years before taking over for Brian Reid as the full-time manager of the club for the 2012-13 season.
