Celtic announce August friendly with Bayer Leverkusen in Finland
Neil Lennon's men will take on the Bundesliga outfit at Helsinki's Olympic Stadium.
Celtic have announced a glamour pre-season friendly with German side Bayer Leverkusen on August 2 in Finland.
The game will take place at Helsinki’s Olympic Stadium with the Bundesliga side are managed by Sami Hyypia.
The Parkhead club are due to start their European campaign in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League on July 15/16 and July 22/23.
Should Neil Lennon’s side reach the third qualifying then the friendly would fall between the first and second leg.
STV understands the 2014/15 Scottish Premiership season is set to kick off on Saturday, August 9.
The Scottish champions have previously played August friendlies in each of the last two seasons, taking on Premier League side Liverpool at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium in 2013 while facing Real Madrid in Philadelphia in 2012.
