Zakaria Bakkali to stay at PSV Eindhoven despite Celtic interest
The Belgian attacker is set to stay with the Eredivisie outfit.
Zakaria Bakkali will not make a deadline day move to Celtic with the forward set to remain with PSV Eindhoven.
The Scottish champions had expressed an interest in the player earlier week but his current club don’t expect the teenager to move on before the end of Monday’s transfer deadline.
The Belgian attacker, who is out of contract at the end of this season, remains in dispute with PSV over a fresh deal.
A PSV spokesman told STV: “We are informed and have taken note on the previous shown interest of Celtic, but at this moment there is nothing concrete going on around striker Zakaria Bakkali.
“With all the information at this point, this deadline day no deal will be closed by PSV with any team for this particular player.”
Bakkali had hip surgery in November and is coming towards the end of his three month recovery period.
