Hibernian debut excites Abdellah Zoubir after he scores in friendly
Loan signing from FC Istres netted a double in closed doors match against Rangers.
New Hibernian winger Abdellah Zoubir cannot wait to make his debut for the Easter Road club after firing a double in closed doors run out.
The 21-year-old, on loan from French outfit FC Istres for the season, struck twice in the 3-1 victory over Rangers at Murray Park on Tuesday.
Speaking to Hibernian TV, the Frenchman said he was excited to get going for real with Pat Fenlon’s men after former Hibee Frederix Arpinon, a coach as Istres, sold him on the move to Edinburgh.
Zoubir said: “I’m happy to play for Hibs and I’m really excited to play for the first team.
“I was training last week and the manager told me he wanted me go out on loan.
“[Arpinon] spoke to me about Hibs and said it was a big club with very nice people and told me to sign.”
The friendly against Rangers also saw ex-Kilmarnock striker Paul Heffernan get on the score sheet, while injury absentees James McPake and Tim Clancy featured.
Manager Pat Fenlon told the Hibs website: “It was a good work-out and it was exactly what we needed.”
