Livingston name Gareth Evans and Richie Burke as new management team
The club are not making a permanent appointment to replace John Hughes, who left last week.
Livingston have appointed current club coaches Gareth Evans and Richie Burke as their new management team an “ongoing basis”.
The First Division side were left without a boss after the departure of John Hughes to Hartlepool United last week, with Evans taking charge as the Lions extended their unbeaten run to six games with a win over Falkirk at the weekend.
Speculation had linked candidates such as Alloa manager Paul Hartley to the vacancy but, following discussions by the board at Almondvale, the club have decided to fill the role from within their current coaching staff.
Livingston’s director of football, Ged Nixon, told STV: “After discussions between myself, chairman Gordon McDougall and director of football John Collins, we decided we should maintain the same personnel at the club and not bring anyone else in.
“We have invested heavily in youth development, bringing in a lot of players in the summer. We believed continuity was paramount to their development. It is important for them that they continue to deal with the same people.
“Gareth and Richie will be taking complete control of all first team, reserve and youth team matters on an ongoing basis going forward.”
