Motherwell boss to make decision on David Clarkson in next few days
Stuart McCall will let the 28-year-old know if he'll be offered a contract for the new campaign.
Motherwell manager Stuart McCall will make a decision over David Clarkson in the next few days as the 28-year-old bids to seal a Fir Park return.
Clarkson has been training with the Steelmen over the past few weeks in the hope of earning a deal for the 2014/15 campaign.
The former Scotland international travelled with the squad to their training camp in Portugal.
Clarkson started his career with Motherwell between 2002 and 2009, making over 160 appearances for the club.
A free agent since leaving Bristol Rovers at the end of last season, he has also played for Brentford and Bristol City.
Stuart McCall said: "We’ve got David Clarkson and we’ll make a decision on him in the near future.
"We need to try and replace Hutchy at centre half and we’ve lost two strikers in Faddy and Anier.
"With Craig Moore out until Christmas it is certainly an area we need to strengthen but we won’t be able to do that before the European tie."
