Ross County make German striker their third January signing
The Staggies have snapped up Steffen Wohlfarth to boost their attacking options.
Ross County have made their third signing of the January transfer window, recruiting German striker Steffen Wohlfarth.
The 29-year-old forward follows Ivan Sproule and Evangelos Oikonomou in making the move to the Glabal Energy Stadium this month.
Wohlfarth moves to the SPL after leaving Bundeliga 3 side Wehen Wiesbaden. He had previously played with Bayern munich’s Second team, Ingolstadt 04 and SC Freiburg.
Ross County manager Derek Adams said he was happy with the new addition and revealed he had been keen to add quality to his squad and not just increase his options by having a bigger squad.
"Whilst we knew we had to add to the squad, it was important that it wasn't just numbers,” he said. “Anyone we bring in has to add something to what is a great group of players already at the club.
“We've had to cast the net far and wide to achieve that whilst working within our budget but with Ivan, Evan and now Steffen I think we've proved that it is certainly possible."
Ross County have also revealed that winger Marc Corcoran has been released form his contract with immediate effect.
