Ross County snap up former Liverpool youth
Alex Cooper has agreed a return to Dingwall after being released by the Anfield club.
Ross County have re-signed former youth team player Alex Cooper, following his release from Liverpool.
The 19-year-old was a free agent having been released by the English Premier league club in the summer. He has signed a contract until the end of the season.
Cooper, the son of former Aberdeen hero Neale Cooper, came through the youth system at County but made the move south in 2007, with the Anfield club paying £100,000 for his services.
Several clubs in England were pursuing his services before the Scotland under-16 winger agreed a three-and-a-half year deal.
Now, having been let go by Liverpool, Cooper has returned to his former club and will attempt to help them stay at the top of the Scottish First Division, where they hold a six point lead in the race for promotion.
