Rangers and Bursaspor have reached an agreement for Kenny Miller to complete a January move to Turkey. STV understands Miller will move  for an initial fee of £400,000, with another £100,000 on offer if Bursaspor qualify for next season's Champions League.

Bursaspor have called a press conference for 12pm UK time on Friday to unveil Miller as their new signing. The Rangers striker has already agreed personal terms and trained with his prospective new team-mates on Thursday afternoon, having flown into the country on Wednesday night.

Miller, who will wear the number 18 shirt for his new club, will undergo a medical on Friday morning before being formally introduced to the press.

Rangers assistant boss Ally McCoist paid tribute to the striker ahead of his switch on Thursday, praising his efforts during his time with the reigining SPL champions.

"He made a wonderful contribution for the period that he was here," McCoist told Rangers' official website. "Kenny has been great for the club and equally the club has been great for Kenny. It's been a good partnership.

"If the deal does go through then he will go with our blessing and our thanks. Having said, that we are disappointed to see him go because he has been an integral part of the team over the past two and a half seasons.

"You can understand why he has made the decision has. All he was doing was exercising his right to look around, like any other player who is coming to the end of his contract."

Miller gave his first interview on Thursday afternoon, outlining his ambitions at Bursaspor to the club's official website.

“I'm glad I came,” Miller told Bursaspor’s official website. “Bursaspor are a team who played in the Champions League this year, so the possibility to play in Europe again has made me very happy.

“Bursaspor playing in the Champions League again is the target and I will do my best to win the league and get to the Champions League again. I want to help the team by scoring the goals which contribute to success.

“I want to prove myself worthy to the Bursaspor fans and earn the right to wear the shirt. Bursaspor are a very good team, I felt that [when Rangers played Bursaspor in this season’s Champions League].”
